The final round of the 2007 AMA Supercross Schedule took place in Las Vegas, Nev., at the Sam Boyd Stadium on May 5. After sixteen exciting events, James Stewart of Haines City, Fla., went home with the win, making for his thirteenth first place finish of the season. Stewart also finished first in points for the season with 385 to his name, significantly out in front of his next competitor, Chad Reed, a fellow Floridian from Tampa Bay. This was James Stewart's second consecutive Supercross season win. Reed, second in the race results and in points for the season, was the only other Supercross racing rider to finish the 2007 AMA Supercross schedule above 300 points.

This last race of the 2007 AMA Supercross schedule itself was unique among Supercross racing championships, with part of the race taking place outside of the stadium. This added time to the racers' laps, with an average of around a minute and ten seconds per lap. James Stewart led all twenty laps, with a decisive final win in the 2007 AMA Supercross schedule in front of a crowd of just over 39,000.

Throughout the 2007 AMA Supercross schedule, James Stewart rode with Kawasaki, while Chad Reed biked on a Yamaha. The third place finisher and a crowd favorite, Kevin Windham of Centreville, Miss., rode with Factory Honda. Windham, who traditionally places well in Las Vegas, scrapped his way up to third, passing Chad Reed briefly in lap 12 before being quickly overtaken again. Though he placed third in the finale, Windham ended the 2007 AMA Supecross schedule fourth on the season.

Of his performance, Stewart said, “I had a perfect 20 laps out there, no mistakes. Chad was running with me in the beginning. I felt like I had some really good lines out there. I work really hard. I won't let my guard down." After the 2007 AMA Supercross schedule, Stewart mentioned his excitement for the next season, stating, "I can be beat, but hopefully not anytime soon."

The 2007 AMA Supercross schedule began in Anaheim, Calif., at Angel Stadium on Jan. 6, in which James Stewart also finished in first place. Two other dates in the 2007 AMA Supercross schedule also took place in Anaheim, on Jan. 20, and again on Feb. 3. Other major venues in the 2007 AMA Supercross schedule included Chase Field in Phoenix, Ariz., Reliant Stadium in Houston, Texas, the Georgia Dome in Atlanta, Ford Field in Detroit, Mich., Qwest Field in Seattle, Wash., and the renowned Daytona International Speedway in Daytona Beach, Fla.

Unlike many other motorsport races, Supercross racing involves hills, gullies, obstacles, jumps, and tight curves. Racing involves not only being able to quickly navigate the course quickly, but also managing to grapple with other racers without wrecking their motorcycles. Supercross racing is motorsports racing to the extreme. Although the 2007 AMA Supercross schedule is finished for the year, Supercross tickets for next year's season will be available soon.
