On May 19th, 2007 the 39th Annual AMA Motocross Racing schedule kicked off outside of Sacramento Calif., at the Hangtown track. Ricky Carmichael took 1st place at the event, furthering his hopes of a sixth consecutive AMA Motocross Racing National win. With twelve more nation-wide tracks to race in the AMA Motocross Racing schedule, and new rogue racer James Stewart hot on his tail, Carmichael will have to keep his mechanical wits about him this weekend at Mt. Morris in Pennsylvania, if he intends to continue his winning streak for the remainder of AMA Motocross Racing schedule.

First held in 1977, the Mt. Morris portion of the AMA Motocross Racing schedule will mark the track's 30th anniversary. This Memorial Day Weekend event will draw in thousands of spectators who  purchased motocross tickets to witness the amazing feats of these two-wheeled daredevils, as the contestants race neck and neck to win the 1st place slot for the day. Last year, James Stuart crossed the finish line before Carmichael by 8/10ths of a second, allowing for some nail biting for spectators this time around. Will Stuart resume his first place position at Mt. Morris this Saturday, and more importantly, if he does, can he extended it to the June 9th race in Southwick, Mass.? Only time on the AMA Motocross Racing schedule will tell.

With the third leg of the AMA Motocross Racing schedule taking place in Southwick, it will be too early for the riders to have a clear idea of who will be taking the lead for the season, but a clear definer for who the potential contenders will be. Last year it was Ricky Carmichael who took 1st place at Southwick with 47 points while Stuart finished with only 35, illustrating that rider's standing can alter drastically between races. This year's results will either boost egos or escalate fears as the AMA Motocross Racing schedule continues on to Maryland, Michigan, and New Berlin, N.Y..

The New Berlin race marks halfway point in the 2007 AMA Motocross Racing schedule, and will occur on July 14th and 15th at the Unadilla Valley Sports Center. After this race, a clear division between riders will be evident, as accumulated points begin to show who actually has a chance in dirt bike hell at winning the championship. Though both Carmichael and Stuart are this year's favorites, there is still potential for a dark horse to emerge from the pack of bikes and give the favorites a run for their money. This mid-way point will be a surefire time to identify the top five potentials on this years AMA Motocross Racing schedule.

The last two races of the AMA Motocross Racing schedule take place in Wortham and San Bernardino, and are by far the most important, as the blood and sweat begins to pour from the top riders who struggle for victory. The second to last race of the AMA Motocross Racing schedule takes place in Wortham, Texas, and in this race it is without a doubt that the potential AMA Motocross Racing champions will be whittled down to three riders. Though there may be a favorite, it will not be until the final race on the AMA Motocross Racing schedule in San Bernardino that this year's winner will be determined.. Undoubtedly, the winner will be  standing tall with trophy in hand knowing that all the hard work had finally paid off.
